BREADS, CAKES, AND PASTRIES

  • Upon arrival at your home, all Frozen Products should be removed from the Styrofoam container and placed in your freezer right away.  You can leave it to thaw slightly in the refrigerator for 20 minutes just prior to serving for best results.
  • Most of our bread and cake products (e.g. pan de sal, ensaymada) are better stored in the FREEZER inside storage bags (e.g. Ziploc) to preserve freshness and to eliminate freezer odor.  We strongly recommend that you do NOT store them in the refrigerator.  This only hastens the loss of moisture in the product.
  • The bread products can be thawed out in their wrappers at room temperature prior to toasting.  Or, if you’re in a hurry, they can be defrosted in their  wrappers in the microwave oven.  (Over-micro waving can cause the bread products to become quite rubbery!) They can also be placed in the toaster for that “crispy-on-the-outside, soft-and-moist-on-the-inside” taste!
  • Polvoron (including Sweet Delights) can be refrigerated to prolong its shelf life up to 6 months.
  • Hopia can be frozen in Ziploc bags to preserve freshness.
  • Mamon is a French sponge cake. Therefore, we recommend that you store them in Ziploc bags in the FREEZER. Refrigerating them only hastens their loss of moisture. They can be allowed to thaw out at room temperature in their wrappers prior to consumption.
  • Banana Loaf has an estimated shelf life of 3 days. We recommend freezing it if you are not going to consume it right away.
  • Brownies have an estimated shelf life of 10 days.  Freezing will prolong shelf life.
  • Sansrival should be removed from the Styrofoam container and placed in your freezer right away.  You can leave it to thaw slightly in the refrigerator for 20 minutes just prior to serving for best results.

NATIVE PRODUCTS

  • Cassava Cake has an estimated shelf life of 3 days. We recommend freezing it if you are not going to consume it right away. Thaw in room temperature if frozen. Serve in room temperature. If heating is desired, remove from the Clam shell container and  reheat in the oven uncovered or microwave.
  • Sapin Sapin also has an estimated shelf life of 3 days. We recommend freezing it if you are not going to consume it right away. Thaw in room temperature if frozen. Serve in room temperature. Sprinkle bud-bud before serving. If heating is desired, remove from the Clam shell container and  re-steam or microwave covered.
  • Buko Pie also has an estimated shelf life of 3 days at ambient temperature and 5 days when stored inside the refrigerator.  We recommend freezing it if you are not going to consume it right away.  Frozen pies can last longer than chilled without compromise of quality.  If frozen, thaw in room temperature for 24-48 hrs inside a refrigerator.  Do not thaw it out from freezer to room temperature to avoid sudden temperature change in the product.  If heating in the oven is desired, ensure that the pie is thawed completely but still cold.  Preheat oven to 325-350 degrees F (different ovens will vary in optimal temperatures).  Remove pie from the box.  Transfer to sheet pan.  Place sheet pan into the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, depending on the oven.  Transfer pie out of the oven and allow cooling.  If heating in the Microwave Oven, remove the pie from the metal container and put in a microwave safe plate.  Set the microwave oven for approximately 1 to 2 minutes..

MEAT-FILLED BUNS & PIES

  • Upon arrival at your home, all Frozen Products should be removed from the Styrofoam container and placed in your freezer right away.  You can leave it to thaw slightly in the refrigerator for 20 minutes just prior to serving for best results.
  • For best results, the Empanada should always be stored frozen if it is not to be consumed right away.  This can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.  They are baked products with fully cooked fillings.  However, this does not mean that the product is suitable for consumption from its frozen state.  It would still need to be fried or baked in the toaster oven.   Pre-heat cooking oil in deep fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Remove Emapanda from freezer just before frying.  These should not be allowed to sit in room temperature for any period of time.  Open the bag and quickly loosen the pieces which may have matter together during storage to make sure that each piece is separate.  Place enough pieces  in your fryer basket or frying pan to fill half way.  Do not overfill or overcrowd basket or frying pan.  It will take longer for the pieces to cook and the pieces will not cook evenly.  Immerse in the hot oil for 1-2 minutes.  Do not cook too long.  Cooking too long or too slowly can cause the filling to boil and make the pastry burst.  Remove from the hot oil and place on a paper-towel lined basket to drain the excess oil.  Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Since this product is fully baked, it can also be reheated using a toaster oven.  Preheat toaster oven to 350 degrees or medium heat.  Arrange the frozen empanadas on the bottom rack.  Heat for 3-5 minutes or until thawed and golden brown.  Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Keep Siopao (Pork Asado or Chicken) frozen at all times if it is not to be consumed right away.  Frozen Siopao can be stored up to three months in the freezer in its original packaging.  This product is fully cooked and can be reheated quickly in a steamer, rice cooker with the steam function, or in a microwave.  When microwaving, place the Siopao right side up on a plate.  Cover lightly with a wet paper towel to prevent drying.  Heat in the microwave at medium heat for 1-2 minutes or until warm to hot.  Remove from microwave.  Let it sit for about a minute.  Filling may be hotter than the bun itself.  Please be careful not to burn your mouth.

FOOD PRODUCTS

  • Upon arrival at your home, all Frozen Products should be removed from the Styrofoam container and placed in your freezer right away.  You can leave it to thaw slightly in the refrigerator for 20 minutes just prior to serving for best results.
  • For best results, the Embotido should always be stored frozen if it is not to be consumed right away.  This can be stored in the refrigerator thawed out for two days, or it can be frozen for up to three months.  The Longanisa can be kept in the refrigerator for up to one week or in the freezer for up to three months as well.
  • The Pork Longanisa is a heat and serve product.  Finally, you can enjoy the taste and flavor of the traditional Longanisa without the prolonged cooking and abuse to your cooking pans.  Just lightly pan-fry, or heat in your toaster-oven, or grill on your barbecue.
  • The Embotido has been steamed prior to packaging.  It can be heated in the toaster oven or it can be deep fried from the semi-frozen or thawed state in a deep fryer with frying temperatures at 350 degrees F for 4-5 minutes. It can be pan-fried after it has been thawed completely in the refrigerator.  It is recommended that the Embotido be coated lightly with All Purpose Flour just prior to frying.  The Embotido Sauce can be reheated in the microwave oven or over low heat in a small saucepan.  If the sauce is a little too thick for your taste, you can add either boiling water or broth and adjust the taste to suit your needs.
  • The Sweet Ham can be stored in the back of the refrigerator in its vacuum packaging for up to one week, and in the freezer for up to 6 months.  It can be glazed by adding brown sugar to the top and baking it in a preheated oven covered at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.  An alternative method is to slice the Sweet Ham and arrange them on a platter like playing cards, and pour the enclosed sauce over it.  This can then be placed in a preheated oven and heated covered with foil for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees Farenheit.  Sliced Pineapples, Cherries, and other fruits in season can be used for garnish. It’s great to wake up during the Holidays to our Sweet Ham on your breakfast table.  Dip the Ham slices in some of the Ham Sauce or coat with brown sugar.  Lightly pan-fry each piece.  Serve with our Goldilocks Pandesal and Queso de Bola!
  • The Chicken Relleno should be thawed overnight in its vacuum packaging in the refrigerator. It can also be carefully thawed out in the microwave. Once thawed, transfer to a tray. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Farenheit. Place the Chicken Relleno on the middle rack and heat for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with heated sauce on the side.
