Goldilocks
Introduces Mamon Lite
Nowadays,
people are concerned about eating healthy. They wish to indulge
themselves but are more conscious of how their health is affected by
what they eat.
High on people’s
consciousness these days, aside from cholesterol, is trans fat. Trans
fat, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s website, is
made when manufacturers add hydrogen to vegetable oil. This process of
hydrogenation increases the shelf life and flavor stability of foods
containing these fats. Trans fat can be found in vegetable shortening,
some margarines, crackers, cookies, snack foods, and other foods made
with or fried in partially hydrogenated oils.
The USDA states
that scientific evidence has shown that consumption of saturated fat,
trans fat and dietary cholesterol raises “bad” cholesterol levels, which
in turn increases the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). CHD has
become one of the leading causes of death in the United States.
In this day and
age, then, people strive for a healthy median ground where they can
still indulge without the guilt. In line with this, Goldilocks is
introducing a new variation of the old-time favorite Mamon, the Mamon
Lite.
The Mamon Lite
has the same delicious taste as the traditional mamon but without the
trans fat, with less sugar, lower calories and less cholesterol. Mamon
Lite is made partly with sugar and partly with Splenda so it satisfies
one’s craving but doesn’t sacrifice one’s health. Mamon Lite is made
with canola oil, which is lower in saturated fat than any other oil and
has Omega-3 fatty acids, which has numerous health benefits. Mamon Lite
can be eaten as is or with fresh fruit to complement its taste.
Aside from Mamon
Lite, Goldilocks will also be introducing more products in the future
that will be high on taste but with more natural, healthier ingredients.
Now enjoy the same
great taste of mamon without the trans fat, with less sugar, less
calories and less cholesterol. Mamon Lite is available at your local
Goldilocks stores.
